About ProteinPowder.com.au

Why this site exists

Two tubs on the same shelf. One twice the price. Nothing on the front of either one tells you which is actually better.

The front of a protein tub is marketing. The back is the product. The nutrition panel and ingredient list tell you the serving size, what percentage of the scoop is protein, what sweeteners are used, and what else you're consuming with every shake.

Most people don't read it. This site does that reading for you, puts the numbers in plain language, and explains what they mean.

Who we are

ProteinPowder.com.au is published by Aplus Media, a South Australian marketing and development company. The people behind Aplus Media also own The Whey Co, a whey protein brand started in 2025 after getting tired of protein powders that were sweeter than they needed to be. Building a protein means reading a lot of other people's labels. This site is where that reading ended up.

Aplus Media and The Whey Co are separate companies with the same owner. When we compare whey isolates, one of them is ours.

Here is what that means in practice:

  • 1

Every number comes from the manufacturer's published nutrition panel. We say which panel we used so you can check it yourself. If a figure changes, we update the page and note the revision.

  • 2

Where we've put products side by side in a shaker, we say so. Where we haven't, we say that too. We don't describe taste tests that didn't happen.

  • 3

When another brand is the better pick for you; cheaper per kilo, more flavours, a different sweetener, we say it. A guide that can't recommend a competitor isn't a guide.

How we make money

When a reader buys The Whey Co through this site, Aplus Media earns an affiliate commission on the sale and because the same people are behind both companies, the sale itself benefits us too. That's the main way this site pays for itself. Links to some other brands are also affiliate links, which earn a small commission at no cost to you.

No brand pays to be reviewed, ranked or featured. A product either earns its place in the comparison or it doesn't.

What's on the site

Buying guides. Which protein suits which goal, and how to read the label when you get there.

Comparisons. Products side by side on protein concentration, ingredients, sweetener and price.

Nutrition articles. Protein targets, timing, types, the basics explained plainly.

Reviews. Detailed looks at individual products, based on what the label actually says.
